Dan Kovtynovich died August 6, 2017 in Tualatin, OR, age 65. He was born May 17, 1952 in Eugene, OR to John and Elva Lano (Robie) Kovtynovich. Dan was a 1975 graduate of the Engineering school at Oregon State University, was a professional civil engineer, and served as an arbitrator for the state of Oregon. He was a member of the Civil Engineers Association and the American Arbitrators Association.

Dan was active in Boy Scouts of America throughout his life, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was an avid geologist and meteorite...

Dan Kovtynovich died August 6, 2017 in Tualatin, OR, age 65. He was born May 17, 1952 in Eugene, OR to John and Elva Lano (Robie) Kovtynovich. Dan was a 1975 graduate of the Engineering school at Oregon State University, was a professional civil engineer, and served as an arbitrator for the state of Oregon. Dan was active in Boy Scouts of America throughout his life, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was an avid geologist and meteorite hunter, and loved to explore and travel. He had lived for the past twenty years in his grandparents' Lake Oswego home, built in 1933, that Dan had restored himself.

Mr. Kovtynovich will be missed by

his sisters Dianne M. Jorgensen and husband Jim of Rocklin, CA and Karen K. Racely and husband Bernard of Ruston, WA. He is also survived by four nieces, two nephews, longtime friends Stan Barton and Stephanie Miller, and cousins Paula Gourley, Eugene OR; Tammara Rutherford Klewitz, Bandon OR; Steven Robie, The Villages FL ; Beth Byrne, Westbrook ME; Conniee Holovach, Garden City KS; Joan Labrerque, Westbrook ME; Carolyn Robie; Wells ME; and Dick Robie, Ipswich MA.

At his request, Dan will be cremated and his ashes placed with his grandparents. Dan's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at The Crown Plaza Hotel in Lake Oswego from 1 - 5 pm.
