She taught in a one room country school in North Dakota, served as a teaching principle in Maple Plain, Minnesota, taught reading to middle grades in Anoka district, and developed a reading program and taught at the Anoka-Hennepin post-secondary vocational school.
Ella married Elmer Solberg (deceased) in 1943, they had one daughter, Carol. Carol Cushman, widowed, living in Portland, Oregon, has three step-children, five grandchildren and extended families.
Ella married John Dokken (deceased) in 1951 and they resided in Maple Plain and surrounding areas until 2013 when she moved to Oregon to be nearer her daughter.
Through the years Ella was active in many capacities at Christ Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary as well as 8/40, the Delano Senior Center, and other groups. She left a broad smile where ever she went, even in her last days. Ella is smiling for us now, return the smile for her.
