Maudine (Munk) Jones was born in Holt, Alabama on September 15, 1923 to Vassie Lee Thompson and Ida Mae Mills Thompson. Maudine was the fourth of five children to this union. Maudine's dad moved to the Portland area to work at the shipyard in the early 1930s. Ida and the children came a year or two later, where they resided until they grew up and either stayed or moved away. Maudine met a man in the early 1940s named Frank Jones, Sr. They dated off and on until April 18, 1947, when they were married in Vancouver, Washington. Frank was from Morton, Mississippi, and was stationed at Fort Vancouver in the US Army. In 1948, Frank and Maudine moved to Flint, Michigan, where they began life as husband and wife. To this union a girl was born in 1958. Flint was their home until Frank preceded her in death in 1992. She then moved back to Portland along with her daughter and grandsons.

Maudine was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, and her sister, and she leaves to cherish her memory:

her daughter Terry Jones and stepson Frank Jones, Jr. She will also be remembered by five grandsons, Bruce Jones and wife Heather of Beaverton, Derrick Jones and wife Cassandra of Federal Way, Washington, Grant Jones of Tukwila, Washington, Dante Wallace of Indiana, and DaVaughn Jones and wife Melva of Tigard, as well as a granddaughter, Pamela Zuckerman and husband John of Tualatin, Oregon, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers, Alisha Lopez and Floyd McClain, and to Providence Hospice.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, May 17 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Portland, with a Homegoing to take place on Thursday, May 18 at 10 am at Lincoln.
